John Landis Slaps Michael Jackson Accross The Face

I got some bad news from the Emjay department. You guessed it. Another lawsuit has just been filed. This time from a long-time friend named John Landis. The guy who directed Thriller. His attorney claims Michael hasn't payed up his share of royalties.

But keep in mind Sony still owns the masters to most of Michael Jackson's hits. Yes Optimum(which was established by him in 83') does hold some claim to this Funky zombie flick. However, the deal in 1991 gave Sony the exclusive right to handle all royalty pay(including Michael's massive breakthrough). In exchange to merging and receiving a half slice to what became the largest catalog of all time in 1995(ATV/SONY BMI). So as you can tell, John Landis is going after the wrong guy(yet could you imagine, Sony would most likely give him the run-around). Hopefully after the much anticipated comeback, Michael will purchase all the rights and distribute evenly. For more on the case, check out the link below.

T-Pain Works With The King of Pop

It's just been confirmed that Michael Jackson and T-pain just drafted three tracks together. Although there's a low probability that they'll make it on the album, T-Pain has emphatically articulated his desire to quite auto-tone and use his real voice.

Now I'm not much for T-pain or any kind of Hip-Hop these day for that matter. But I firmly believe he knows what what he is doing. Yes, sometimes Emjay's remixes are just thrown together. But when it comes to his albums, nothing less then perfect will be tolerated. So weather or not they make the cut, rest assured when Michael's in full control, there will be no compromises(Wil.I.Am did Thriller25 and Michael wasn't thrilled with Sony's dominance of "Invincible").

Not Much From The MJ Department

Sadly there's nothing worthwhile to report about Michael Jackson so far. Although I did find a few tidbits you might find interesting.

1. Skin Pigment Disease Reversed with Piperine Nutrient From Black Pepper-Vitiligo may very well be cured without any need for synthetic remedies. This of course would mean Michael Jackson could turn black again(if he so chooses) and the end to the suffering many go through(psychologically)!

2. "Thriller Live!"-Thriller Live has just got a kick start in London's West End. Featuring cast members who've personally worked with "The Gloved One". The show is a tribute to Michael Jackson's career which spans 40 years! Find out more at thrillerlive.com!

3. MJ Co-Authors A New Song-As of January 9th 2009, a new collaboration by Michael Jackson and Ryan D Groves(from Santa Monica, California) has just been added to the BMI Repertoire. An official song registry of over 6,000,000 songs either released or underground. The song is called "Baby's Fire". With alternate titles "Higher Baby's Fire" and "Baby's On Fire". No word on any leaks at the moment so you'll probably won't hear it anytime soon(unless it makes his new album).

That is all for today. My next update won't be until early next week(or sooner if something big happens). So while your waiting, why don't you thumb through the Michael Jackson Beat Archives.

Michael Jackson Proposed To Give Mecca His Dessert

According to Spinner and many other news sources, Michael Jackson is showed his desire to make things right between old friends. He is reportedly giving away his Northern Songs Catalog to Paul McCartney. Both of whom collaborated for each of their albums(if you want to know more of their little joint venture, read up on an old post entitled  "Michael Jackson and Paul McCartney").

Weather or not this has some bearence of truth, he'll have to wait till the contract between Sony and him expires sometime this year. All I've heard is both parties want to purchase 100% of the Sony/ATV Catolog. If Michael Jackson makes that huge comeback we've all prayed for, then no doubt will he outbid Sony. But if Mr. Jackson waits too long, then Sony will have the upper hand. I'm beginning to lean more towards the first senario(though I don't want to be biased). Whatever he does rest assured, he knows how to do good business. (contrary to what they want you to believe).

Anyways, I'll let you know if this bears any resemblence to truth. In the meantime, Happy New Year to all of you and thank you for visiting! May this year bring Michael back to where he belongs!
